If Joel Klatt’s rankings were used by the College Football Playoff selection committee, we’d have a B1G-SEC showdown in the 4-team field.
After another entertaining week on the field, Klatt has released his latest Top 10. He has two teams from the SEC and two teams from the B1G in his Top 4. He called it an “impossible ranking” after the ninth week of the season.
Klatt has both Ohio State and Michigan State in the Top 4 following the latest weekend of action, along with Georgia and Alabama. Michigan also received a mention, coming in at No. 9 on the list.
Here’s a look at Klatt’s complete Top 10:
- Georgia
- Ohio State
- Alabama
- Michigan State
- Oklahoma
- Oregon
- Cincinnati
- Notre Dame
- Michigan
- Wake Forest

(impossible ranking!)— Joel Klatt (@joelklatt) October 31, 2021
Almost making the cut were Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Baylor.
The first College Football Playoff Rankings are set to be released on Tuesday, so we’ll see if Klatt’s Top 10 mirrors what the selection committee sees through nine weeks, as well.
It’s certainly going to be a fun final month to the 2021 season. We’ll see how much this Top 10 changes over the next four weeks.
