The college football season is starting to heat up, and the opening betting lines for Week 3 have been released!
Week 2 featured some interesting story lines and results throughout. Ohio State had no problem dispatching of Rutgers, but they did allow the Scarlet Knights to get on the board with a field goal in the 52-3 drubbing. Meanwhile, Michigan State was upset in the dessert as Arizona State held the Spartans in check with a final score of 16-13.
One of the biggest games of Week 3 will be a meeting between ranked opponents when Ohio State takes on TCU. It will definitely be the best test for the Buckeyes so far this season. Purdue will also look to get in the win column when it takes on SEC foe Mizzou.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the opening betting lines from OddsShark for Week 3:
Indiana:-16 over Ball State
Maryland: -11.5 over Temple
Penn State: -35 over Kent State
Wisconsin: -21.5 over BYU
Michigan: -32 over SMU
Minnesota: -16 over Miami (Ohio)
Purdue: +6 underdogs to Mizzou
Northwestern: -21.5 over Akron
Ohio State: -12.5 over TCU
Rutgers-Kansas, Troy-Nebraska, and Illinois-USF are all unlisted as of Sunday evening. Rutgers, Nebraska, and Illinois are all dealing with injuries at the QB position. A betting line for those games will likely be released once the injury status for those players is given. Iowa-Northern Iowa will likely be released much closer to game time due to it being an FBS-FCS matchup.
