B1G’s bid for CFP looking good with 2 teams in top 10 on AP Poll

There are two Big Ten teams ranked in the top 10 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, showing both the strength of the conference but also its parity. A total of five Big Ten teams are ranked in Sunday’s poll.
The big mover here is Indiana, who rose four spots to No. 8 following a 14-6 win over then-No. 16 Wisconsin. Ohio State, who beat up on Michigan State Saturday, remains at No. 3.
Indiana is ranked in the poll for a seventh straight week, matching a program record.

It remains to be seen if Indiana will see a similar bump in the College Football Playoff ranking, where they came in at No. 12 a week ago. With a shot at making the Big Ten Championship Game, the Hoosiers have a legitimate chance of making the playoff. First, they must win their regular-season finale against Purdue and then win the conference’s championship.
A championship game that, presumably, could be situated for Ohio State to qualify for, even if Ohio State falls below the six-game threshold. The Buckeyes beat Indiana earlier in the season, but they must play Michigan this week to reach six games.
The Big Ten is one of three conferences with multiple teams in the top 10 (that is, if Notre Dame, playing as a guest in the ACC this year, is counted). The SEC has three top teams, led by No. 1 Alabama.
