Wisconsin’s 2022 recruiting class has a new addition.
Monday, the Badgers received a verbal pledge from Avyonne Jones, a 3-star cornerback out of Southlake, Texas. The defensive back posted a video on Twitter to make his decision official.
Jones commits to Wisconsin over offers from several other Power 5 programs. Others to show interest included Cal, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Northwestern, Tennessee and Texas Tech, among others.

Jones was a Texas District 4-6A first-team selection following the 2020 season and is also a track and field athlete at Southlake Carroll. He was a member of team that finished as the runner-up in the state championship playoffs.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back is ranked as the No. 101 cornerback in the class and is considered one of the Top 150 players out of Texas. He becomes the eighth player in the 2022 class to commit to Wisconsin.
The Badgers currently rank No. 13 in the B1G recruiting rankings.
