This is an interesting way to start the Rose Bowl Game between Oklahoma and Georgia.

In a few weeks, the two teams will clash on the field in Pasadena in the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup. But there’s already been some off-the-field antics that have transpired.

Early Sunday morning, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield tweeted that his phone was bombarded by Georgia fans after someone leaked (or posted) his cell phone number. The Sooner star and Heisman Trophy frontrunner apparently received plenty of “encouraging” messages.

The traffic was so heavy on his phone that Mayfield had to get a new number.

Obviously, it isn’t really all the great that someone made Mayfield’s number for everyone to see, but Georgia fans forcing the star quarterback to get a new cell number just a few hours after learning Oklahoma was the opponent? That’s, well, persistent I guess.

Mayfield usually uses this type of stuff as fuel for big performances. Bulldog fans might regret poking the bear when the two teams line up across from each other in a few weeks.
