Of course Alabama is joining Michigan at a satellite camp

It doesn’t get much more ironic than this.

Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh dominated headlines all week with their opposing stances on the regulation of satellite camps. The Michigan coach called out Saban on Twitter, and backed his response up by calling Saban a “hypocrite” for lecturing opposing coaches on recruiting when one of his assistants was fired for recruiting allegations.

So naturally, Alabama is going to join forces with Michigan at a satellite camp next week. St. Frances High School football coach Henry Russell made that announcement on Twitter on Friday:

Saban never swore off satellite camps, but he did cause a fuss by questioning their intentions. It remains to be seen if he or Harbaugh will be present.

Harbaugh already conducted a camp with another SEC foe. He coached a camp in Atlanta with Georgia coach Kirby Smart, who he also called out on Twitter for criticizing Michigan’s spring practices.

The camp will also host the Michigan men’s and women’s lacrosse and cheerleading staffs. According to the Baltimore Sun, the camp is expected to host 300 high school football players, 300 youth football players, 150 lacrosse players and 100 cheerleaders at the camp.

The camp is set for Patterson Park in Baltimore next Monday. If Harbaugh and Saban are both in attendance, look out.
