‘Beating the brakes off’ Michigan a top priority for Justin Fields, Ohio State

The rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan is endless. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, the Buckeyes and Wolverines are always at each other’s throats. It only intensifies when college football season is looming.
On Tuesday afternoon, Ohio State’s team captains met with the media to discuss the upcoming season, and what challenges the COVID-19 pandemic presents to the sport and its players. One of the hot topics was the potential of moving “The Game” to a different date on the calendar.
Justin Fields, Wyatt Davis and other Buckeyes made it pretty clear, though. They could care less when “That Team Up North” makes the trip to Columbus in 2020. Whenever it is, they’ll be ready.
“To be honest, I don’t really care when we play that team up north,” Fields said, according to Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors. “I just want to play them.”
Fields and Davis both went on to say they plan to “beat the brakes off them,” when the Wolverines do come down.
Ohio State has dominated the series lately, winning 15 of the last 16 matchups, including eight-straight contests. Last year, the Buckeyes traveled to Ann Arbor and put a 56-27 bruising on the Wolverines to essentially solidify their spot in the College Football Playoff.
This year, the Buckeyes want to extend the streak to nine-straight wins over Michigan. Clearly, they don’t care when the matchup happens, either.
