The story of this offseason in college football has been all about realignment.

There have been plenty of rumors swirling about what each conference should do next after the SEC made such a big splash with Texas and Oklahoma coming aboard. They are all rumors, and the only two teams moving conferences are the Longhorns and the Sooners.

Texas and Oklahoma are officially off to the SEC after the 2024-2025 season. The ripple effect has left the 8 remaining members of Big 12 schools in search of answers.

One AD of those remaining 8 member schools is the Kansas State athletic director Gene Taylor. Taylor does not think that the college football realignment is going to continue this upcoming year.

“Nothing is going to happen this year,” Taylor said, according to John Kurtz of News Radio KMAN. “I’d be shocked. I do have friends in other leagues and when I talk to those ADs that I’m close with, I’m hearing they’re not doing anything.”

The Wildcats finished 4-5 in the 2020 season, losing their last 5 games.

Kansas State opens the season on Saturday, Sept 4th, against the Stanford Cardinal in a neutral site game in Arlington, TX, at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
