This is a tough way to lose a rivalry game.
Stanford defeated Cal 24-23 on Friday night after the Bears missed an extra point that would have tied the game with 58 seconds remaining.

That’s junior defensive end Thomas Booker with the block.
Cal still had all three timeouts left, but Stanford was able to muster a first down on its ensuing drive to ice the game.
This was Cal’s problem all night long — special teams. The Bears also muffed a punt and had a field goal blocked at the end of the first half.
Stanford is now 1-2 on the season and has bragging rights against the Bears for the next year. Stanford also holds the all-time series record 60-44-10.
