Ohio State’s 2022 recruiting class has taken another hit.

Sunday, the Buckeyes lost a commitment from 5-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary. He had initially committed to the program back in January. He received nearly 30 offers on the recruiting trail and now plans to reconsider his options.

Singletary released a statement on Twitter regarding his decision. He was part of a class that ranked No. 1 nationally prior to his decommitment.

“First off, I would like to thank the entire Ohio State coaching staff for giving me an opportunity to be a part of the Buckeye family, and believing in my talents,” Singletary wrote. “After talking it over with my family, I have decided to decommit from The Ohio State University and re-open my recruitment. Respect my decision.”

Per 247Sports, Singletary is listed as a 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback. He is ranked as the No. 14 overall prospect in the class and the No. 5 cornerback for the cycle. The Jacksonville native is a Top 3 player from Florida.

Other programs that have offered Singletary are Georgia, Clemson, Arizona State, Auburn, Florida, Indiana, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC and others.

It will be interesting to see what schools are back on Singletary’s radar.
