Big Noon Kickoff was live from Bloomington ahead of a massive Week 8 game between Nebraska and Indiana. The outcome of that game will play an early role in the Big Ten race, and it’s set to be played in front of a sellout crowd at Indiana’s Memorial Stadium.
Prior to the game, FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff crew broke down all the major stories of the week and what to expect from the big game. While true freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola has reinvigorated the Husker offense, this game really pits contrasting styles against one another.
Curt Cignetti, in his first season at Indiana, revamped the Hoosiers via the transfer portal into one of the most efficient offenses in the country. Led by QB Kurtis Rourke, Indiana is 2nd nationally and leads the B1G with 47.5 points per game.
Meanwhile, Nebraska brings its potent defense and lockdown unit to the task with a true challenge for the Hoosiers. The Huskers are 7th nationally while allowing 11.3 points per game so far this season.
As for the pre-game picks, the Big Noon crew was split on the vote but the majority of analysts went with Indiana winning in front of its home-field advantage. Matt Leinart was the only one to go with the Huskers outright in the game.
Here are the full picks:
- Urban Meyer — 38-31 Indiana
- Matt Leinart — 31-28 Nebraska
- Mark Ingram — 27-24 Indiana
- Brady Quinn — 24-21 Indiana
