Big Ten Network analyst raves about Rutgers playmakers

Rutgers hasn’t been known for its offense the last few seasons. Actually, the Scarlet Knights have been flat-out terrible on that side of the ball, finishing last in the Big Ten in offensive yards (by a wide margin) each of the last three years.
But things might be changing in Piscataway.
Rutgers posted 206 rushing yards and 348 passing yards while recording 48 points against UMass on Friday night. Rutgers’ 554 total yards was the third-most in the Big Ten over opening weekend.
After the big offensive weekend, Big Ten Network analyst Jeremy Leman raved about the Scarlet Knights offense Tuesday morning.

Sophomore running back Isaih Pacheco, who is probably the team’s best weapon, rushed for 156 yards and four touchdowns Friday night. Juniors Bo Melton and Raheem Blackshear reach registered at least 120 receiving yards and caught a touchdown as well.
Senior quarterback McLane Carter wasn’t too shabby either, completing 21 of 31 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns.
BIG fans should keep in mind these numbers came against UMass, but there seems to be signs of life on the Rutgers offense. The Scarlet Knights might not be the push over they’ve been the last few years.
