The Big Ten Network visited Michigan on Friday as the crew makes its way through a preseason tour of all 14 Big Ten programs.
Dave Revsine, Joshua E. Perry, Howard Griffith and Gerry DiNardo each gave their thoughts after spending some time in Ann Arbor on Friday.
Perry called out Michigan’s defensive line for being a big reason why the Wolverines should be improved in 2021.
“As you look toward the interior where some of the bigger bodies are, I think they’re well put together just in terms of physique. But also they move really well. And then you kinda look to the outside linebacker group and I think they’ve got some body types that really work out there.”
Griffith agreed with Perry’s assessment of seeing improvement along the defensive line.
“I think they’re probably as deep as they’ve been in quite a few years on the interior, the line of scrimmage,” Griffith said.
Michigan finished No. 12 in the Big Ten last season in sacks per game (1.5) and No. 13 in tackles for loss per game (4.17).
Switching to the offensive side of the ball, DiNardo noted that Cade McNamara took all of Michigan’s first-team reps believes he’s “clearly” the starting quarterback.
