Big Ten Network is set to debut a new docu-series this week, entitled The B1G Story, the network announced via a press release on Monday afternoon. The first episode will air on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. ET.

According to the press release from BTN, the series will air throughout the year, and will “provide a contemporary look at compelling Big Ten stories of both past and present.” The first episode will feature former Penn State/NFL star and current BTN analyst Matt Millen.

The show will take a deeper look into Millen’s diagnosis of Amyloidosis in 2017, his heart transplant in December 2018 and day-to-day life since the operation. Because of the diagnosis, Millen was forced to step away from the broadcast booth last season, but has returned for the start of the 2019 B1G football season.

“Storytelling is one of the pillars of BTN, which is made possible by our award winning BTN Originals team,” said BTN president Francois McGillicuddy. “In addition to The B1G Story, I expect there to be additional projects throughout the year providing fans unique access and perspective on the Big Ten Conference.”

BTN has produced numerous docu-series over the last few years to provide B1G fans with unique perspectives on the players, coaches, fans and stories from around the conference.
