Andrew Ivins is headed to Maryland.
The Miami Central linebacker and five-star recruit announced his plans live on NBC during the All-American Bowl. Ranked the No. 1 inside linebacker prospect in this cycle by 247Sports Composite, Ivins opted for Maryland over his other finalist, Miami.
Lewis transferred to Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna Prep after his junior year, before then opting to finish his prep career at Miami Central. He closed out his prep career earning a 6A Florida State Title and racking up 45 tackles and five sacks during his six games. During his junior season at Miami Northwestern he totaled 105 tackles, nine sacks and three interceptions, helping them repeat as 5A state champions.
After initially committing to Florida as a sophomore, Lewis re-opened his recruiting process the spring before his junior season, with Miami, Nebraska and Texas A&M all potential landing spots, and he gave a verbal commitment to Tennessee in April of 2020.
