It’s been a rough time in Lincoln so far this season. Nebraska is sitting at 1-3 overall and 4th in the B1G West. The Cornhuskers are coming off a 49-14 loss to Oklahoma in which they gave 580 total yards.
Oh, and former head coach Scott Frost was fired a day after losing to Georgia Southern. Interim head coach Mickey Joseph also fired DC Erik Chinander following a blowout loss to Oklahoma.
That all happened in three games. Some sense of encouragement might be necessary.
New DC Bill Busch on the Nebraska players: “Wow.”
He heaped praise on their ability to move forward and compete amid a tumultuous time. “Guys, they’ve been through a lot.” pic.twitter.com/gQkgpwHLad

Things still have a chance of turning around if you’re a Nebraska fan. The Cornhuskers face an Indiana team at home that just took a big loss to Cincinnati. A win over the Hoosiers and a follow-up victory against Rutgers would push Nebraska back to .500.
The point is the Cornhuskers can still salvage what so far has been a tough season. A start would be the defense not giving up 40-plus points over their last two outings.
Hopefully, Busch made some adjustments during Nebraska’s bye week. This could be a key moment in turning around the team’s narrative in 2022.
