Another black stripe alert was announced out of Ohio State’s training camp Tuesday. This time around, a freshman wide receiver is the latest official member of the Buckeyes to join the brotherhood.

The player is Bryson Rodgers, a freshman wide receiver and former 4-star recruit out of Florida. He joins fellow freshman Carnell Tate as first-year receivers to shed their stripe so far in fall camp.

“I want to appreciate y’all first, man. Bringing me into the Brotherhood, molding me into this culture we got,” said Rodgers during the reveal. “I want to thank Zone 6, Coach Hart, Coach Jordan taking my game to another level. O-line blocking for me, for getting my quarterbacks to get the ball off. Go Bucks!”

Rodgers joined Ohio State as a 4-star recruit out of Wiregrass Ranch High School in Zephyrhills, Florida. The 247 Sports Composite rated Rodgers as the 49th WR in the country for the 2023 recruiting class. He was actually the lowest-rated WR in Ohio State’s recruiting class, but that is only because the other 3 were top-10 players at the position.

Rodgers is listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds and enrolled with the program in January. While the path to playing time and targets is understandably tough this fall, Rodgers will try to find ways to contribute in a deep room for the Buckeyes.
