Blake Corum injury: Jim Harbaugh explains second-half usage for Michigan’s star RB

Blake Corum sent Michigan fans, players and coaches through a scare during Saturday’s game against Illinois. Fortunately, it looks like the star running back for the Wolverines avoided a major injury.
In the first half of action, Corum was hit in his left knee and went down holding that knee. The play even resulted in a fumble with Corum letting go of the ball as he reacted to the pain in his knee.
Coming out of halftime, Corum was cleared to resume play. He joined the offense on the first drive of the third quarter but only registered 2 carries before getting held out of action the rest of the way.
After the game, Jim Harbaugh was asked about that decision and status for Corum. Harbaugh said the knee was indeed “bothering” Corum as the coaches tried to continually evaluate the running back.
In the end, the decision was to lean on the backups:

Despite the limited action, Corum still registered a 100-yard rushing game, 147 total yards of offense and a rushing touchdown against the Illini. Hopefully, he’ll be able to heal and bounce back quickly before The Game against Ohio State.
