Purdue has landed a verbal commitment from in-state shooting guard Fletcher Loyer, who’s the younger brother of Michigan State’s Foster Loyer.

He officially announced the commitment via his Twitter page:

According to 247Sports, his 247composite ranking is 0.9332 which makes him a three-star recruit but close to a four-star recruit.

He’s considered the sixth-ranked player in the state of Indiana for the 2022 class and the 22nd ranked shooting guard in the country. Overall, he’s the 140th ranked player nationally for the 2022 recruiting class.

Besides Purdue, the other schools that were eyeing him were Denver, Detroit, Michigan, and Missouri per his 247Sports page.

Fletcher’s older brother, Foster, is a point guard for the Spartans and is in the running for the starting job to start this season. Fletcher is a bit larger than his brother – 6-foot-4 to Foster’s 6-feet height – and makes his living as a two-guard as opposed to running the point.
