Boo Corrigan, chair of the College Football Playoff committee, met with ESPN’s college football crew following Sunday’s Playoff release.

Coming out of Championship Weekend, the CFP committee unveiled a final four with matchups of No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 4 Ohio State and No. 2 Michigan vs. No 3. TCU. Despite losing on Saturday, the Horned Frogs remained above the Buckeyes as Ryan Day’s squad was idle.

During his appearance, Corrigan was asked by Rece Davis if there were any loud voices in the committee room for putting Ohio State at No. 3. Corrigan admitted it was discussed but there was ultimately a final consensus on TCU at 3:

“Our goal in that room is to beat it around the best we can,” said Corrigan. “There’s 13 of us in there using our football judgment. Sure, people were talking about it from every side to make sure we arrive at the right decision. ultimately that was TCU at 3 and OSU at 4.”

In the end, Ohio State will be thankful for the chance but a matchup against defending national champion Georgia will not be an easy task. We will see how Day’s squad comes out to play on  New Year’s Eve.
