The number of Covid-19 cases due to the Omicron variant are rising. Now Georgia and Michigan will be closing off practices to members of the media in an attempt to stay in control of the situation.
This comes after Alabama already made the decision earlier, now Michigan and Georgia have decided that it’s best for them to follow suit. Sports Illustrated’s Pat Forde and The Detroit News’ Angelique Chengelis updated fans on the decision via Twitter on Monday.
Both Michigan and Georgia have closed their practice media windows as well at the Orange Bowl. Bearcats, and Bearcats only, are available for viewing.

Practices are closed to the media for Monday and Tuesday. Photographers and videographers will also not be allowed to attend. Any photos and videos will be provided by the bowl’s communication staff after practice.
If there are any more concerns, we could see even more changes in the future leading up to the game.
No. 2 Michigan (12-1) and No. 3 Georgia (12-1) play at 7:30 p.m. ET in the Orange Bowl Friday on ESPN.
