Bowl game formerly known as Outback Bowl gets new title sponsor, name

The game formerly known as the Outback Bowl has a new name, again. The Tampa-based bowl game affiliated with the Big Ten will now be known as the ReliaQuest Bowl.

In March, it was announced that the game would be known as the Tampa Bay Bowl after the agreement with Outback had run out. Now that Tampa-based company ReliaQuest is the title sponsor, it will be known as the ReliaQuest Bowl.

The bowl will be known as the ReliaQuest Bowl for the next 4 years encompassing the January 2023-2026 games. According to a press release, the game will continue its conference affiliations with the SEC and Big Ten/ACC and remain a part of the New Year’s Day lineup with ESPN as the network TV partner.

“We are thrilled to welcome ReliaQuest as the title sponsor of the Bowl,” Bowl Association Chairman Troy Atlas said in a press release. “ReliaQuest is a leader in cybersecurity and a key business leader in the Tampa Bay region. This is a 21st Century partnership with a fantastic 21st Century company. We look forward to working with Brian Murphy and the ReliaQuest team to showcase their brand nationally and internationally while continuing to positively impact both the sport of college football and the Tampa Bay community, which we both call home.”

“The Tampa Bay Bowl has a rich history as an iconic game played on one of the biggest sports days of the year, January 1,” Brian Murphy, founder and CEO of ReliaQuest, said in the announcement. “We’ve always believed that security is a team sport and ReliaQuest is proud to continue this game’s great tradition.”

Outback served as the title sponsor of the postseason game from 1996-to-2022. The game was previously known as the Hall of Fame bowl from 1986-to-1995.

Arkansas defeated Penn State in the 2022 Outback Bowl.
