Illinois is seeking its first winning season since 2011. Illinois is considered one of the most underrated teams in the B1G this season, according to CBS Sports.
“No, the Illini aren’t going to shock the Big Ten West, but they’ve got a chance to win seven if everything falls right,” CBS Sports analyst Dennis Dodd said.
Bielema is replacing Lovie Smith after Illinois posted a 2-6 record in 2020. Illinois kicks off the season on Aug. 28 when they host Nebraska (1 p.m. EST/FOX).
