Brett McMurphy releases preseason bowl projections for 2022 college football season

Brett McMurphy of the Action Network has dropped his preseason picks for all the games in college football’s 2022-23 bowl season.
McMurphy also notes in his preseason projections that he was 92% accurate on the bowl games heading into last season’s Selection Sunday. However, McMurphy admitted that his preseason bowl projects were 9.2% accurate.
Out of the B1G, McMurphy has 11 teams going bowling this season, including Nebraska and Northwestern. That is a pair of 3-win programs from 2021 who will square off in Week 0 this Saturday.
Also out of the B1G, McMurphy is projecting Ohio State to play in the College Football Playoff after missing the field in 2021.

- Northwestern – Quick Lane Bowl vs. Central Michigan
- Maryland – Guaranteed Rate Bowl vs. Kansas State
- Nebraska – Pinstripe Bowl vs. Virginia Tech
- Purdue – Duke’s Mayo Bowl vs. Florida State
- Iowa – Music City Bowl vs. Ole Miss
- Michigan State – Citrus Bowl vs. Arkansas
- Wisconsin – Orange Bowl vs. NC State
- Penn State – Cotton Bowl vs. Houston
- Michigan – Rose Bowl vs. Utah
- Ohio State – VRBO Fiesta Bowl vs. Georgia (CFP Semifinal)
- Ohio State – 2023 National Championship vs. Alabama
