There aren’t many people quite as locked in to college football as Stadium’s Brett McMurphy. If he says the Heisman Trophy race is over, it’s probably pretty close to being wrapped up.
McMurphy updated his Heisman ballot this week, but said that the winner has already been determined. He’s claiming that Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be the winner, the only question is who accompanies him for the ceremony.
Though he’s come to the conclusion that the race is over, McMurphy still listed his top five candidates, as well as some honorable mentions. Here was the college football insider’s list, which included a few B1G names:
-
Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
-
Will Grier, QB, West Virginia
-
Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
-
Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
-
McKenzie Milton, QB, UCF
McMurphy also gave honorable mentions to Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley and Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor.
Tagovailoa appears to have a stranglehold on the Heisman Trophy. But there’s still half a season to play and anything can happen in college football.
