Brian Ferentz pulled some strings while Iowa was stuck in a weather delay against Nevada. David Ubben of The Athletic posted about what happened.
There were three weather delays before the final whistle sounded at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday. Some media members hadn’t eaten in a while, when Ferentz came to the rescue. He asked if they had eaten anything, and quickly brought out some turkey sandwiches that the team wasn’t able to get to.
Maybe if coaching doesn’t work out for Ferentz, he can become a food delivery driver with one of the many services available today. There were no details about where the food was catered from, or anything like that. A disastrous few weather delays can sometimes bring out the best in people.

Iowa ended up beating Nevada 27-0 on Saturday, and the offense didn’t look terrible for once. Spencer Petras finished with 175 yards passing and 1 touchdown. Freshman running back Kaleb Johnson had a breakout game where he had 103 yards rushing, including a 40-yard touchdown run.
A potential turning point could have happened for the Hawkeyes. We’ll see as Iowa plays Rutgers in its B1G opener next.
