Iowa hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to its QBs as of late. However, Spencer Petras is excited about how much new QB coach Brian Ferentz is pouring into his new role.

Ferentz has been Iowa’s OC since 2017, and has mainly worked with the TEs recently. Starting this season, he will now be moving on the quarterbacks where he has really dove into his work according to Petras. With Ferentz now working with QBs, maybe Iowa can finally break the mold of not having consistent QB play.

Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register and Iowa City Press-Citizen tweeted out the quote. Based on what Petras said, we could see some changes. Here’s what he had to say:

“Brian (Ferentz) has been working his ass off, trying to detail everything,” said Petras. “I’m really happy with how it looks right now. The real test will be training camp, getting a feel for it all. … And obviously we’ve got to do it in season.”
