Brian Lewerke joins illustrious MSU company after eclipsing career milestone

Michigan State is looking to put away Indiana, and quarterback Brian Lewerke has proven crucial in the game.
Though far from perfect, Lewerke has led a couple of late drives to stake the Spartans to a lead. A vintage performance similar to what he flashed during a 10-win season in 2017, Lewerke has utilized his arm and his legs against the Hoosiers defense.

Late into the fourth quarter, Lewerke is up to 47 yards rushing in the game. He’s also gone over the 1,000-yards rushing mark for his career.
That is impressive alone, but according to the BTN broadcast, Lewerke becomes just the second Spartan quarterback to eclipse 6,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing for his career. Drew Stanton is the other player.
Hopefully, the Spartans come away with a win against Indiana. But congratulations to Lewerke for an impressive accomplishment!
