Michigan State is gearing up for a trip to New York City, and three Spartans announced they plan to be playing in the Pinstripe Bowl.
The bowl game will be against Wake Forest with a shot at win No. 7 on the line. Though it has been an undoubtedly disappointing year, finishing with a winning record should not be overlooked.
On Tuesday, starting quarterback Brian Lewerke indicated he plans to play in the bowl for the Spartans. Lewerke threw for 2,759 yards and 16 touchdowns this season and is fourth on Michigan State’s all-time list with 7,973 yards passing.
Chris Solari with the Detroit Free Press shared Lewerke’s decision:

On the other side of the ball, two key defensive linemen also indicated they intend to play in the bowl game. They are Kenny Willekes and Raequan Williams. Willekes (8.5) and Williams (5.0) led the Spartans in sacks this season with Willekes also adding 14 tackles for loss.
Stephen Brooks with 247 Sports shared the announcement of the duo:

For their careers, Willekes and Williams have combined for 76 tackles for loss and 33.5 sacks. Having their experience along the defensive line against the Demon Deacons should provide a boost.
The Pinstripe Bowl is set for Dec. 27 at 3:20 pm EST on ESPN.
