Nebraska baseball has struggled to find consistency this season. But on Sunday, the bats came alive in a big way on the road.

Facing Indiana in the finale of a weekend series, the Huskers shook off losses in the first two games to salvage a win with a big offensive output. Nebraska finished with 4 home runs as the Huskers piled up 19 runs on 20 hits in a 19-7 win vs. the Hoosiers.

Nebraska started to separate with 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning to take a 13-5 lead entering the 7th inning. That is when Brice Matthews put an exclamation point on the afternoon.

Leading off the 7th, Matthews took a 1-0 pitch deep out of left field for a mammoth solo shot. The tale of the tape listed Matthews’ HR at 450 feet with an exit velocity of 107 MPH off the bat.

Cam Chick, Leighton Banjoff, and Gabe Swansen were the other Huskers to go deep on Sunday. Chick and Griffin Everitt tied for the team lead with 4 RBI apiece in the win.
