The broadcast network for the B1G season opener between Penn State and Purdue has been revealed.
The cross-division matchup between the Nittany Lions and Boilermakers will air on FOX, the network announced on Monday. Kickoff is currently set for Thursday, Sept. 1. A time has not been announced.
FOX’s airing of Penn State-Purdue comes as part of the deal between the network and ESPN involving Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. The play-by-play crew will be the new voice of ESPN’s Monday Night Football and FOX received an additional B1G football game to air during the 2022 season.

Penn State and Purdue have played 19 times with the Nittany Lions dominating the series 15-3-1. They are also on a 9-game winning streak against the Boilermakers, dating back to 2005.
Purdue’s last victory came in 2004 in Happy Valley.
This year’s game will be played at Ross-Ade Stadium. The last meeting in West Lafayette was a 62-24 Penn State victory in 2016, the year the Lions won the B1G title.
