Brody Brecht praises Spencer Petras for leadership, character throughout tumultuous 2022 season

Iowa wide receiver Brody Brecht had high praises for his quarterback Tuesday afternoon.
The freshman wide receiver praised Spencer Petras for his character and leadership over the course of the season.
“He’s a great leader and a great guy,” Brecht said. “I love talking with him… and to go through what he’s gone through, we all have so much respect for him… for him to be able to go through that straight-faced and keep his composure, he’s earned my respect.”
Petras has had a solid season for the Hawkeyes. He has racked up 1,716 yards and 5 touchdowns, leading Iowa to a 7-4 record with a chance to secure the B1G West on Saturday. Iowa takes on Nebraska on Friday, looking to extend its win streak to four games.
