The Denver Broncos might be getting some much-needed relief at tight end.
Noah Fant, who’s considered the Broncos’ top tight end this season, has been out with an injury but should be good to go for Week 1 next week, according to head coach Vic Fangio.
Fangio said although Fant isn’t practicing due to a leg injury, he will likely be ready for the Sept. 12 game against the New York Giants.

Fant is entering his third season in the NFL and is listed as the top tight end on the depth chart. Last year, he racked up 673 yards on 62 receptions and scored three touchdowns for Denver.
In his three years at Iowa from 2015-18, Fant caught 78 passes for 1,083 yards and 19 touchdowns. The Broncos selected him with the 20th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and will have one year left on his contract after this season.
Denver opens its 2021 season on Sept. 12 against the New York Giants.
