BTN analyst on Purdue’s turnaround: ‘It comes down to Jeff Brohm and they have an identity’

Purdue was 0-3 in 2018.

It was Jeff Brohm’s second season as coach of the Boilermakers and things seemed to be taking a turn for the worse. In Year 1, Brohm led Purdue to a 6-6 record and a bowl game, where the team won.

Year 2 wasn’t looking as good until the past month of play. Purdue has been a perfect 4-0 since its disastrous start.

The Boilermakers have been using senior QB David Blough and senior RB D.J. Knox offensively to help right the ship and freshman WR Rondale Moore certainly hasn’t hurt, either.

On Friday, BTN analyst Jeremy Leman talked about Purdue’s turnaround and how part of it is because of how Brohm didn’t just clean house as soon as he got in charge.

Leman is absolutely right here. Some coaches come in and just clean house, making changes all over the place and starting younger guys. That can take a lot of time — which some coaches don’t have — in order to see results.

At Purdue, we’re seeing results now. Part of that is thanks to the players, of course, but part of it is because of Brohm as well.

Just ask Ohio State.
