Big Ten Network’s Joshua E. Perry and Jake Butt gave their thoughts about how Penn State has done so far. The Nittany Lions are 5-0 heading into Week 7.
Perry talked about how Penn State has been able to prove everyone wrong. He thinks that the Nittany Lions have answered a lot of questions that people had about them. The balanced attack for Penn State is producing results.
“This is a team that not a lot of people were high on at the beginning of the year, and now we’ve seen them play and they’ve answered some questions,” said Perry. “Specifically with the run game. On offense, they’ve looked much better. That’s elevated Sean Clifford’s play, because he hasn’t to focus so much on his arm.”
Butt highlighted how Clifford has been at the center of the Nittany Lions’ success. However, he noted that Penn State will face one of its bigger tests on Saturday.
“They have been able to establish the run game, they have been able to keep Sean Clifford clean,” said Butt. “That’s been the recipe for success. They’re facing a top pass rush in Michigan. Now is the test where we can confirm that belief.”
We’ll see if Penn State can live up to the challenge Saturday at noon ET on FOX.
