The Big Ten Network aired a marquee women’s basketball matchup Thursday night between No. 5 Iowa and No. 2 Indiana. The leaders in the B1G met for the top-5 matchup in Assembly Hall, and the game did not disappoint.
Caitlin Clark posted another strong night to lead all scorers with 35 points while adding 10 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Unfortunately, Clark did struggle from deep and finished 3-for-11 from 3-point range.
On the other side of the ball, Grace Berger and Mackenzie Holmes combined for 50 total points as the Hoosiers carried the night, 87-78. Indiana also registered 9 steals and forced 18 total turnovers from the Hawkeyes in the win.
Friday evening, BTN revealed the full impact of that broadcast. According to the network, the game netted 325,000 viewers, making it the most-watched women’s basketball broadcast in the history of BTN. The previous record of 286,000 was set during a 2022 B1G Women’s Basketball Tournament game.
A new one for the record📚. Last night’s top 5 matchup between @IndianaWBB & @IowaWBB delivered the largest women’s basketball audience in BTN history.

With stars on both sides of the matchup, it is good to see the telecast generated big numbers for the game. We’ll see if either of those teams can generate a deep run in the NCAA Tournament this season.
