The next time Terry McLaurin and Dwayne Haskins step on the football field, they’ll be doing it on the same team again.
McLaurin was taken in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday night, selected by the Washington Redskins with the No. 76 pick. He’ll be rejoining Haskins to start his professional career.
Haskins was certainly pleased with the move.
Let’s gooooo @Redskins
— Dwayne Haskins, Jr (@dh_simba7) April 27, 2019
Last season, McLaurin emerged as a promising receiver for the Buckeyes. He ranked third on the team in receiving yardage (701 yards) and second in touchdown catches (11). He totaled 35 receptions for the year.
One of the faster players on the team, McLaurin quickly became one of Haskins’ favorite targets on the field and made several game-changing plays throughout the season. He also earned recognition as one of the better blocking receivers on the Ohio State roster in 2018.
The chemistry between Haskins and McLaurin could be beneficial for the Redskins down the road. It certainly gives Ohio State fans a reason to tune into Washington games next fall.
