Buckeyes clean up 15th annual Herbies

On Wednesday, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit declared that Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott would win the 2015 Heisman Trophy.
On Thursday, Herbstreit showed the Buckeyes some more love.
In the 15th annual Herbies, he dished out awards to a slew of Buckeyes. And yes, Herbstreit predicted that the Buckeyes would repeat as national champions. He tabbed preseason All-American Joey Bosa the winner of the “Best Pass-Rusher” award, while defensive teammate Darron Lee earned “The Enforcer” award.
The accolades didn’t stop there for Bosa. Herbstreit also gave the junior defensive end the “Throwback Player” award.
Not surprisingly, Herbstreit awarded his Heisman favorite, Elliott, the “Ultimate Game-Changer” award. That one might stem from the single-game records he set in three straight postseason contests en route to a national title.
Ohio State was also nominated in three other categories. Joshua Perry was one of Herbstreit’s finalist for the “Ultimate Herbie” award while Braxton Miller received a nomination for “Most Exciting Player” and Lee was among the selections for the “Looks the Part” award.
The Buckeyes were the only individuals in the Big Ten to Herbies. But Wisconsin’s Corey Clement was a nominee for “Breakout Star” and Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers was one of the selections for “Welcome to the Party.”
Herbstreit picked the Buckeyes to beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship and be joined by Arizona State, LSU and Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff.
