The number of players committed to Ohio State’s 2020 recruiting class continues to dwindle.

On Wednesday morning, 4-star offensive lineman Jake Wray announced that he was decommitting from Ohio State and would reopen his recruitment. Meyer’s decision to step down as head coach appears to be the primary reason behind Wray’s decision.

He made the announcement via Twitter. While he’s decommitting, Wray did say that Ohio State will remain as one of his top schools.

“This has been a challenging decision, especially with my brother being on the team, but committing early had only one big loop hole for me – no major coaching changes,” Wray said on Twitter. “As the program adjusts, I need to de-commit and re-evaluate my recruitment. Ohio State is still one of my top schools. Buckeye Nation you are the best and I want to thank you for your support.”

Wray is one of the top offensive tackles in the 2020 class, ranking No. 16 at his position. The Marietta, Georgia native is ranked as the 13th-best player from his state and is a top 125 player in the overall class, according to 247Sports.

Wray has received offers from 24 programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, LSU and Florida State.

Ohio State’s 2020 recruiting class is now down to five commits. Prior to Wray’s decommitment, the Buckeyes ranked fourth nationally and first in the B1G with the class.

Tuesday night, 4-star safety Lejond Cavazos also decommitted from Ohio State.
