Another heavily-recruited prospect in the 2022 recruiting class is considering Ohio State as a potential destination.
Over the weekend, the Buckeyes made the cut for 4-star defensive tackle Dominick James out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Ohio State is listed as one of six finalists right now, along with Florida, LSU, Oregon, South Carolina and Texas A&M.

James is listed as a 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive lineman who ranks as one of the Top 200 overall players in the class, coming in at No. 181. He’s ranked as the No. 16 defensive tackle of the cycle, as well.
James transferred into the IMG Academy before the 2020 season and totaled 30, 11 for loss, 5 QB hurries, an interception and a sack in six games of action. Before the transfer, James played at Prattville in Alabama, where he was credited with 48 stops, 10 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and a safety.
From 247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins:
A big man that’s rather light on his feet. Carries 275 pounds better than most. The type of interior lineman that can not only plug gaps, but also get after the quarterback. Initial burst tends to overwhelm blockers. Uses strong hands to swipe and disengage from contact. Flexible enough to sink his hips and find some leverage. Raw power allows him to anchor and hold his ground vs. double teams, at least at the high school level. Doesn’t let many ball carries slip away, finishing off tackles more times than not.
Two dozen programs have offered James on the recruiting trail.
