Cade McNamara is reportedly heading to the transfer portal as of Monday morning. Although McNamara can still withdraw from the portal, Michigan fans made sure to talk about how much they appreciated him on social media.
McNamara eventually lost the starting job to fellow teammate J.J. McCarthy this season. McNamara played in 21 games as a Wolverine and had 3,181 yards passing and 21 touchdowns in his career.
Many Michigan fans sent him their best wishes on Twitter. McNamara led the Wolverines to their first B1G title in nearly 17 years last season as well as their first win over Ohio State since 2011.
McNamara’s achievements in Ann Arbor should be recognized as he set the foundation for this season’s team. He helped put Michigan back on the map after everything he accomplished for the maize and blue.
There have been a couple of rumors about the teams that should be on his radar, but no one knows anything for certain right now.
Here are some tweets from Michigan fans sending McNamara their regards:

Cade McNamara has entered the transfer portal.
A great career for him at Michigan.
Since this moment, Michigan has gone 26-3 with 2 wins over OSU, a CFP appearance, and a Big Ten Title (this will only get better if they beat Purdue).
A moment Michigan fans won’t forget. pic.twitter.com/gke1aQEcoA

Cade McNamara said last year that he and that class made it their mission to be the class that elevated Michigan to the next tier of college football. That mission was a complete and total success. Michigan fans are forever indebted to Cade. https://t.co/xe5M0ooKIy
