Caleb Mitchell Irving, elite DL out of Texas, announces B1G commitment

Caleb Mitchell Irving, a 6-foot-2 and 255-pound defensive lineman out of Dallas, Texas (Parish Episcopal School), has announced a commitment to play in the B1G.

Irvin is a 3-star recruit who announced he would play at Purdue. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 74 defensive lineman in the country, and the No. 121 player in the state of Texas. He has a reported 35 offers, and chose Purdue over the likes of Cal and UTSA.

He’s the 7th-highest rated commitment for the Boilermakers.

For Purdue, Irvin is the first defensive line commit in the class that includes safeties Luke Williams and D’Mon Marable, along with cornerbacks Jo’Ziah Edmond and Hudauri Hines as the defensive recruits in 2024. Those 5 are in addition to Marcos Davila, Jaden Ball, Jesse Watson, Jaheim Merriweather, Jordan King and Shamar Rigby on offense.
