Casey Thompson has missed the last two games for Nebraska since getting injured in the loss to Illinois. Fortunately, he continues trending toward a return to the field in Week 12.
On Thursday, head coach Mickey Joseph announced Thompson continues to throw the ball well during practices. Joseph says “the last three days have been enough” to see the QBs recovery.

It’s no surprise, but Thompson is largely the most important piece for Nebraska’s offense. Having him under center provides a deep threat in the passing game that has been missing with backup QBs Chubba Purdy and Logan Smothers.
In the loss to Minnesota, Nebraska managed just 121 yards through the air. The loss to Michigan was even worse with the Huskers recording 8 total first downs and just 71 yards passing.
Hopefully, Thompson returns and provides the boost the offense is looking for.
