Dreams became reality for seven B1G players on Thursday night, and now they’ll enjoy the big paycheck that comes with being a first-round selection in the NFL Draft.
The B1G tied for the second-most picks in this years draft, along with the ACC which also had seven selections. The SEC led the way with nine picks.
Every year, the NFL sets a “total rookie compensation pool” that forms what each draft pick can earn based on calculations tied to the salary cap.
Ex-Oklahoma and Heisman-winning QB Kyler Murray was the No. 1 pick, and the total projected value of his four-year contract is north of $35 million. His signing bonus alone is projected to be $23.5 million.
Former Ohio State star Nick Bosa was picked second overall by the San Francisco 49ers. Bosa is set to have an estimated $22.3 signing bonus and a contract value of nearly $33.4 million.
Below is a list at the projected contract total for all seven B1G players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, as well as Murray for reference. The numbers come from Spotrac.com.
