Cassius Winston becomes B1G’s all-time assist leader

There’s a new record holder in the B1G.

Cassius Winston entered Friday night’s game against Wisconsin needing four assists to become the all-time assist leader at Michigan State and in the B1G, passing former Spartan Mateen Cleaves for the top spot. Winston got just enough to break the record, ending the game with four assists.

Winston now currently has 817 assists in his career. Cleaves ended his time in East Lansing with 816. Below is the dish that put Winston in the No. 1 spot.

Winston ended the game with six points, five rebounds and four assists. Michigan State defeated Wisconsin 67-55 to improve to 14-4 on the season and 6-1 in B1G play.

Winston is also the first player in B1G history to score 1,600 career points and dish out 800 career assists.
