There’s never a dull moment when it comes to college football.
LSU and head coach Ed Orgeron will be mutually parting ways at the end of the season, not even 2 years removed from him winning the National Championship.
After this was announced, Chip Patterson and Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports named their top candidates to replace Orgeron.
It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone to see some big-name coaches on their list and it’s headlined by 2 from the B1G. Both James Franklin and Mel Tucker are listed, though the latter is expected to be named to most lists due to his history there.
Tucker was an assistant on Nick Saban’s staff when he coached at LSU and it’s been reported that some members at the school are very interested in him.
Lane Kiffin (Ole Miss), Matt Rhule (Carolina Panthers), Luke Fickell (Cincinnati), Dave Aranda (Baylor), and Bob Stoops (formerly of Oklahoma) were also listed as top candidates.
