With the 2021 college football season creeping up, the strength of schedule conversation is becoming more and more relevant.

This week, CBS Sports ranked the strength of schedule for all 14 B1G teams. The toughest road through the 2021 season belongs to Nebraska, while Northwestern is tabbed as having the easiest slate for the upcoming year.

Nebraska opens the year against B1G West foe Illinois on the road in Week 0 and will play Buffalo and Oklahoma as part of the nonconference slate. In crossover games, the Huskers will have to face Michigan State, Michigan and Ohio State.

Northwestern also opens the season against a conference opponent, hosting Michigan State in Week 1. The nonconference schedule is much easier, playing Indiana State, Duke and Ohio. In addition to MSU, Northwestern will play Rutgers and Michigan in cross-division contests.

Here’s how CBS Sports ranked each strength of schedule for the upcoming season (toughest to easiest):

  1. Nebraska
  2. Michigan
  3. Wisconsin
  4. Purdue
  5. Indiana
  6. Rutgers
  7. Michigan State
  8. Maryland
  9. Penn State
  10. Minnesota
  11. Illinois
  12. Iowa
  13. Ohio State
  14. Northwestern
