Jack Short might gain the reputation as one of the toughest tight ends in college football. Not only was the Central Arkansas TE delivering big hits to Austin Peay defenders on Saturday night, he essentially destroyed an air conditioning unit.

In Saturday night’s FCS showdown between Central Arkansas and Austin Peay — the first college football game of 2020 — Short hauled in a dump-off pass and raced down the field for a big gain before being knocked out of bounds by a Governors defender. But when the tight end was nudged to the sideline, he really didn’t slow down, plowing into Austin Peay’s air conditioning unit.

Austin Peay might have to invest in a new one. In the video below, you’ll see all 6-foot-4, 245 pounds of Short ramming into the unit, knocking it over while the tight end is still standing:

That’s one tough tight end.

Short caught just two passes but totaled 40 receiving yards on the night. He delivered numerous big blocks throughout the night, and was a problem for the Austin Peay defense.

Central Arkansas went on to defeat Austin Peay 24-17 in a thrilling Saturday night contest. It was certainly nice to see college football back on the television this week, and all the craziness that comes with it.
