Central Michigan quarterback John Keller is ready to head home.
In April, Keller was left in critical condition following a shooting at an apartment complex in Mount Pleasant. He was shot in the chest and was rushed to a nearby hospital following the incident.
On Friday, Keller wrote on Twitter that he’ll be heading home after a month-long stay in the hospital.
“Very thankful to be heading home today,” Keller wrote. “First, I have to thank god and I want to thank all of you for the prayers and support as they have been answered on this tough road. Thank you Hurley (Medical) for saving my life. Blessed.”

Police say that the shooting stemmed from an altercation that occurred at a party. One individual left the party and grabbed a gun from his car, then fired shots upon returning.
Keller was one of two victims injured in the shooting.
