The game is set to be played in Myrtle Beach, which could potentially be impacted by Ian with rain and high winds being forecasted. Both universities and the Sun Belt conference agreed to move the kick-off time out of an abundance of caution, and in the interest of team travel safety.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are looking to become three-peat champions in the series, having won out over the Eagles in 2020 and 2021. They join James Madison as the only Group of 5 teams that are still undefeated.
